I have done a little stop motion animation in the past, but it hasn't always been my strong suit, due to my occasional lack of attention to detail.
I used the Stop Motion app on my phone to make a few little stop motion animations. The first is me goofing around with my facial expressions.

For the longer animation, I created a stop motion of my favorite objects on parade. I collect a lot of little objects that remind of specific memories or have personal significance to me. I used two fiber works I made in undergrad as the background. The images are of some of the flowers native to southeastern Massachusetts.

Eva,
ReplyDeleteYour facial expression gifs are so great! I also loved how cute your stop motion parade was and how you were able to imbue it with personal significance without having to explicitly tell the viewer (even though you did). You get the sense that these objects aren't things you see everyday. This is a very good lesson for a beginner. Moving forward, you might want to encourage kids to try to represent that personal significance through a narrative. How did these objects come to have personal significance?OR what is the story of these objects? What life did they lead before they got to you? SO instead of a journey from the left to the right of the frame, but now a journey from the beginning to end of its life. Does that make sense? Anyway, this was wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
